The past month held one of our greatest joys yet in this journey! It has also been super duper busy.
PICNIC + Future GOURMET FOOD for Cypress:
On June 8th we had the privilege of hosting our first VIP’s on property for a gourmet picnic + hike.
It was amazing.
Since hospitality and being intentional are such core values of ours, it was just delightful to be able to flex that muscle — not from a distance with the details of the buildings, services, etc.— but in person.
In addition, we had the privilege of having executive chef Nick Leahy prepare/serve all the food (and that mimosa bar!).
As a fun aside; we got to simultaneously reveal the executive chef we’ll be partnering with to bring all of the gourmet food and pre-made meals to Cypress.
Vice Kitchen is an amazing company that specializes as a purveyor of fine foods. Led by Daniel Barbalho and Nick Leahy, award winning chefs in the Atlanta area, we are so grateful for their partnership and excited for the amazing food that we hope will elevate your stay and take one more detail off your plate. (No pun intended :-)
WELL
We have a well, but need it to be deeper and more robust, so we have had the initial assessment and are in the process of getting that well even deeper.
In addition, in order to service the concierge/restaurant which will be open in Phase II, we have already started the process of applying for a commercial well… a process that has to go through the EPD and can take up to a year! (It is always wild to me how long in the future processes have to start!)
GC
There have been too many conversations to count here. While the architectural plans and civil engineering is done, there are always a million details to hash out and decisions to make.
One of the things we find ourselves currently navigating as we get closer to breaking ground is understanding all of the lead times on materials and the timing of ordering. While this will be an ongoing part for the rest of the built, it is also one of my (Melissa’s) favorites parts of this!
BANKS/FINANCING
Since our May conversations, we have had really positive conversations with the banks.
As we have shown how we are moving towards pre-booking on Indiegogo, that has given them increased confidence which is what they want, and we understand that they need that!
We’ve also started conversations with investors and considering that route for financing as well. After the banks waffled on us in April, we decided we needed to explore all options and keep all conversations open!
